About us

We bring energy under control

For a growing number of organisations, energy is no longer a simple cost item. Connections, solar panels, charging points, batteries, CHP units, heat pumps, contracts, metering data and grid capacity constantly interact, while costs, risks and dependencies keep rising. Grid Services turns these separate parts into one controllable energy system. Not by putting a single technology at the centre, but by bringing overview, control and coherence to the whole. Our role is that of energy director: we analyse, design, implement and manage smart energy systems for businesses, real estate, ports, business parks and other energy-intensive environments.

Born from practice

Grid Services emerged in 2022 from the installation world of the Bollenstreek region, where we came into contact early on with complex systems full of solar panels, CHP units, heat pumps and climate control. There we took our first steps in smart grids, not from theory but from the question of how to make installations work together and make optimal use of available capacity. As grid congestion increased, it became clear that more cables or larger connections are not always possible or economically sensible. The challenge shifted to insight, data, control and direction. That is how Grid Services grew along with it: from technical solutions to connecting, managing and optimising the entire energy system.

One working energy system

Many organisations have already invested in sustainable or electric solutions. Yet solar panels, charging stations, batteries and heat pumps do not automatically deliver the desired result together. Without central control, fragmentation arises: charging points cause peaks, generation goes unused, capacity becomes overloaded and costs become untraceable. We bring these parts together in one managed system and connect technology, data, contracts, users and cost structures. This makes energy understandable and controllable again.

Our control layer

Our approach rests on one central control layer with four connected levels:

  1. Measure and understand

Consumption, generation, peaks, capacity, contracts and metering points in one reliable picture.

  2. Choices and priorities

Determining what must always be available, which processes are critical and which limits may not be exceeded.

  3. Steer on value

Reducing peaks, making better use of capacity, smart charging and storage, and lowering energy costs. This is also where new layers of value arise around flexibility, settlement and monetising renewable energy and certificates.

  4. Look ahead

Anticipating growth, electrification, grid congestion and changing tariffs, so that choices are made in time.

Who we work for

We work for organisations where energy has become a strategic part of operations: real estate portfolios, business parks, ports, hotels, logistics locations, manufacturing companies, agricultural businesses and sites with multiple users. It is precisely there that many interests come together, and we make sure all the parts become part of one manageable system.

Make energy work for you

Sustainability only truly works when it is economically sensible, operationally reliable and controllable. That is why we look not only at kilowatt-hours, but also at capacity, peaks, contract headroom, costs, continuity, settlement and returns. Grid Services does not deliver a standalone installation or a standalone dashboard, but control: insight, overview, control and steering on costs, capacity and value.

Our founders

Alexander Tuiningafounder

Alexander is the founder of Grid Services, driven by the question of how to make the energy transition economically sensible. With over twenty years of experience translating technical solutions into concrete business value, he connects energy, technology and financial decision-making. As a Registered Energy Advisor (REA), he combines in-depth energy knowledge with a sharp eye for what matters to decision-makers: cost, risk and strategic room to manoeuvre.

Jan Gerard Snipco-founder

Jan Gerard brings the technological side of Grid Services. With a background in electrical engineering (TU Delft, including an internship at CERN) and a long track record as a founder of technology companies, he translates energy challenges into working software, data and AI. With digital agency Sping as a base, he is building the Energy Control platform: the layer where measuring, steering and looking ahead come together in one controllable energy system.
